Apple TV remote not working
Apple TV remote only works while hooked up to the charging cable it does not when I unplug from charging

When the battery of the remote itself appears to be the source of issues, then Apple has a service program for that, at about 50% off compared to regular replacement when out of warranty.

When charging, always use an undamaged and genuine MFi certified Lightning-to-USB cable. Some knock-off cables may not be up to par and can damage the battery in the process.
