Can "auto" mode gets turned off permanently?

I was using "files" and "notes" to scan a document to send it to someone's email. I didn't know the app just scan document in an auto mode that just kept doing it, resulting in many duplicates and I had to turn off "auto" mode and did it again on my own. I then realized everytime when I start this app to scan something, auto mode is on, and I need to turn it off myself. This is very inconvenient. Is there a way to make it stay "manual" evertime I use this app to scan a document? and why can't we use Google Drive to scan a document on iOS? I am, frankly, quite disappointed by iOS so far, as it is not as intuitive as I felt it was.
