Match Watch Workout and Fitness App

I've added Tennis as a workout on my Apple Watch 6. However, I can't add it as a Workout in the Fitness app on my iPhone 12 Pro. Therefore, I can't look at the data from my tennis game - calories, heart rate, time etc. etc. Is there a way to do this?

Otherwise, what's the point of tracking my tennis on the Watch alone??

When you do a workout and tap end the data gets uploaded into the fitness app under workouts.

There are nearly 80 workouts you can add to the list and Tennis is one of them.

You don't add workouts in the fitness app, that's where the data from your watch gets uploaded.

It also gets recorded in the Health App.

Fieryjack, no it doesn't...

I just did a tennis lesson and ran the tennis workout on my Watch (which I added by scrolling to the end of the generic workouts and then clicked "Add Workout". Tennis is one of them...

Afterwards, I pressed end and then pressed done. There was data on the Watch at that point.

However, when I go to my iPhone and look in the Fitness app there is no data. In the Activity Summary there is nothing. No minutes, no steps, no heart rate, nothing!! It's as if I didn't do anything. Under Workouts/Show More there is nothing because tennis is not able to be added to the All Workouts list.

There are 10 there and do not reflect the ones on my Watch.

I think that, since there is no ability to add tennis as a custom workout in the Fitness App, that is why there is no data transferred. This makes NO SENSE

Yes, fieryjack, I added tennis to the workouts on my Watch.

BUT no data from the watch is uploaded to the Fitness app. Also none in the Health app. In the new iOS 14 there is very little data in the Fitness app. There are 2 interfaces: Summary and Sharing. Under Summary there is Activity, Workouts, Trends and Awards.

NO data from my tennis workout is in any of these tabs. In the Health app, there is no activity shown for when I play tennis either.

Perhaps an upload issue?? However, I stand by my "complaint" that being unable to add tennis as a workout in the Fitness app on the iPhone is a key issue as to why the data does not sync or upload

Ok. I've solved my own problem...should have tried this from the get-go. Both the Watch and iPhone are new and I think, when setting them up, there was an issue with syncing. Perhaps I set up the "wrong" one first.

I simply reset both devices and, lo and behold, tennis has appeared on the Fitness app and all my tennis workouts are showing up both in the Fitness app and the Health app!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Phew...
