How do I transfer my old computer info to my new computer? I never have done a migration assistant password and its asking for one??

Thanks for reaching out here in Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you're having some trouble with Migration Assistant. We have a resource that can help.
You'll want to make sure the both computers have all the necessary updates installed before migrating your data. If installed you can try restarting both computers and make sure they're both on the same network. At that point follow the steps as outlined in the article below. Keep in mind there are multiple ways to restore your data. This includes using a Time Machine backup as well.
