difficulty loading pages/apps when 1st turning on - IPad 8th edition

I have a new IPad, just getting it November 17, 2020. At first, worked great. Speedy turning on, pages on safari loading quickly, as well as the apps . Then these past few mornings, when I turn it on, click on an app or safari, a blank page appears, as though the page or app can't load. After trying a few times, closing all apps & trying again, a page or app will finally load. Any ideas as to what is happening?? Thanks, in advance.
