Apple iTunes gift card

My friend in South Africa normally buy and send me iTunes gift card worth 450 Rands and it worked,then after some weeks he bought another one worth 1350 Rands I tried using it didn't work it said the card has not been activated,he went back to the shop the manger and sales person there said the card can only be used in South Africa I told them I have been using the previous here in Nigeria,they referred me to contact the support team

From the photo, this link applies: If you can't redeem your App Store & iTunes Gift Card, Apple Music Gift Card, or content code - Take the card back to the store with the receipt and ask them to activate them. https://support.apple.com/HT201195#inactive


"Card is not activated


If you see a message that says that your card has not been properly activated, it might not have been activated by the retailer who sold the card. The best option is to go back to the retailer and try to resolve it with them."


From what you write, realize that a S. African card can only be used to charge an Apple ID if that ID's country is set to S. Africa. If yours is set to Nigeria then the Nigerian Apple system probably thinks you have a bad Nigerian gift card.
