iPhone 12 mini - touch not working

I got a new iPhone 12 mini and I'm not able to open it. I've read that some people have similar issues and that it has been solved by upgrading the software but I haven't been able to start the phone at all.

I'm still on the "Hello" screen with bottom text "swipe up to open", unable to swipe up. Any suggestions on how to solve this?

Hi Emma,

We understand you are not able to swipe up to unlock your iPhone. Update can indeed help with many issues. We would recommend the following steps that may help:

1- Connect the iPhone to a charger using a Lightning Cable and then unlock.

2- Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update

3- Tap Download and Install

4- Leave the iPhone connected to the charger till the update is complete.

If the issue remains, we recommend that you reach out to Apple Support directly. Get help where you are. Choose a product and we’ll connect you to an expert by phone, chat, email, and more. Please reach out here:
