iTunes won't recognize new iPhone 12 on my Mac

Hello there,

iTunes will not recognize my new iPhone 12. When I plug the iPhone in, it starts to charge so it's getting power, but nothing else. iTunes does however recognize all our other devices, iPads and other phones. For some reason iTunes doesn't like my new phone. My macOS is Catalina 10.15.7. Any suggestions and/or ideas? Thanks!
