How to run intel apps on a new m1 mac??

So I just got my brand new MacBook Air that runs the brand new m1 chip (my first Mac, for school but other uses as well). I was hoping to be able to run boot camp to get windows os, but that did not work on the new Mac. I thought "well that is fine, I will just get the windows applications and stuff on macOS" I do LOVE the new macOS, just a few learning curves. So I downloaded Microsoft apps, and I downloaded steam to find that most games don't work. Is there a way to make it work on the new m1 Mac (I know that there is rosetta but it does not seem to be working)? Here are some screen shots for reference!

This is a multi-faceted question. macOS isn't the premier gaming platform. The m1 is a new platform. It does let you run iPhone and iPad software, but it seems app developers are reluctant to let their games run on the m1. The authors of parallels, which lets you run Windows, have a goal of getting parallels to run windows on the m1.

The m1 is early. If the ability to run windows software is a hard requirement, it might be best to return your m1 and get an intel mac. You could buy a stand-a-lone gaming system.
