FAILED BACKUP
When we backed up the phone, we disconnected from Wi-Fi and lost some recent messages. So we did the back up again without leaving Wi-Fi and it still didn't load the recent messages.

- Are you setting up a new iPhone or restoring to the same device?
- Was there an issue you were restoring for?
- To confirm, are you backing up to iCloud?
- Do you use Messages in iCloud? Check by going to: Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Messages
