is it possible that you inadvertently chose your internal drive as a time machine? if you have an external drive attached to the mac that's your time machine, open Time Machine preferences and click on "select disk".
then, in the popup, determine which drive is your internal, and which is your time machine. if you don't have an external time machine drive hooked up, there will only be one drive listed under "backup disks"
click on the disk you need to remove to highlight it, and then click "remove disk"
Thank you! Now it's saying that my Macintosh HD is the disk used for Time Machine backups, but I don't think that's right. Any thoughts?
