wired mouse moves very slow

i am using a wired mouse with my ipad pro 2020 thru a usb-c hub. it is a usb-a mouse connected to one of the usb 3.0 ports on the hub along with an usb keyboard. the keyboard works as expected, but the mouse moves very slowly while all other functionalities work fine. can anyone know how to change the setting or what might be the problem?
