My IPhone XR has been dropping calls

There are other reports with the same problem about dropping calls for iPhone XR. You can first check if there is no coverage or you have a poor signal.  It also could be that there are some temporary problems that the carrier is having. Try first to move to a different location or contact your carrier if there is any issue on their end.

Another note is you can check if the sim card is damaged by physically inspecting it by removing it from the tray.

You can also try to restart the iPhone or turn on Airplane Mode for about 10 to 15 seconds to refresh the reception.

If it is keeps dropping calls, then troubleshoot the power.
