Hi JbnFlorida-boy,
We understand you'd like to select multiple messages for deletion, and the great news is that can be done by Command + clicking on each message. Here's how: Delete messages and conversations in Messages on Mac
If you have any other questions or concerns, please let us know.
All the best!

Deleting a message was previously possible via Cmd+Backspace, with Cmd+D to confirm the deletion (as opposed to cancelling it). However, it seems in Big Sur this shortcut has been removed and I now have to pretend that my Mac doesn't have a keyboard and use the trackpad to select the delete option instead.
WHY ON EARTH DID APPLE DO THIS?
You can't even use the keyboard to confirm the deletion after swiping on the message - you have to actually click on the Delete button using the trackpad.
MacOS is not iOS. There is a keyboard on a Macbook for a reason. Please could Apple reinstate the shortcut and promise not to remove any others.
