I merged my old Apple ID with my current ID long ago, I no longer have access to the old IDs email and need that ID off of my ipad

I had merged my old Apple ID with my new Apple ID long ago, I just got a new IPad Pro 12.9 ( Love it ) and loaded form my old iPad. There are a lot of a apps and mix=sijc bought with the old ID, I have not used that ID in a while. There are apps that keep when I attempt to open them they ask for the password to the old ID, I forgot that password long ago, I did everything I know how to do to recover the password password but nothing is working. I get as far as it saying it is sending a notification to my iPhone but that never happens. I would like to remove that Apple ID completely even if it means losing so me music but do not know how to do so short of wiping my iPad clean and and loading it from scratch without loading it form a backup. would I loose information doing it that way? I know the back up will load the information from both apple IDs
