USB C Charging Cable for Apple Watch

Does the USB-C charging cable charge the Apple Watch SE faster than the USB-A cable? Thanks

No, because the charging demand of Apple Watch is much lower than the rated output of any available charger. The basic USB-A power output minimum specification has always been 5v/500mA, which calculates as 2.5 Watts. I believe the watch draws less than 200mA and this is regulated by the charging control circuit inside the watch. What you call “the charger” is simply a source of power.


Just pick the correct cable type according to the output port of the power adapter you intend to use.
