Apple watch series 6 from Dubai

It seems a lot of India customers traveling through the Dubai airport have purchased the Apple Watch and used it in India.

There are 2 Apple Watch cellular radios

• Canada, U.S. Mexico, Puerto Rico

• The rest of the world

Carriers will not attempt to connect to an Apple Watch that does not use the correct radio.

If you do not get your Apple Watch in your own country, you may have to return the Apple Watch to the country where purchased to get warranty service.

If you do not get your Apple Watch in your own country, there may be country specific restrictions in the installed Apple Watch software that prevent features from working when you get home.

This last part is important if there is a feature that would be normally available for an Apple Watch purchased in India, but is not available to an Apple Watch purchased in Dubai.

Apple document Apple Watch - Carriers - Apple shows the same models numbers are correct for both UAER and India. However there is some history of the networks in India failing to activate cellular service on privately imported Apple Watches so you should check with your preferred network.

You might also find some functions you hope to use are not available with an imported watch. To be certain it will work the function has to be available in both the country where you purchase and the country you intend to use the watch. For example I found differences for Walkie Talkie and some features of Apple Maps when I looked at watchOS - Feature Availability - Apple

Good point about the warranty, and this probably also applies for AppleCare+ on products purchased during travel.
