Amazon alexa app not showing up in screen time

This was asked before with no answer from support, but it is still an issue:

I’m trying to used my downtime to cut back on screen time. However there are some apps I’d like to be able to use all the time with no restrictions.

When I go to the “always allow” section, the Amazon Alexa app doesn’t show up as an option to select.

Anyone else experienced this? Anyone have an answer to this?

Thanks. This worked for me.

So basically I’m background Amazon shopping app and Alexa app are tied as one app and not separate apps. Therefore, only Amazon shopping app shows up in screen time setting. Alexa app do not show up in screen time setting. It is a good idea from an Amazon shopping experience, but from a screen time perspective, either you have option to enable app limits or always allow. It is not an option in screen time setting to do it separate as there is no separate Alexa app in screen time.

the GIF is a little fast for someone to use it as instructions, but I got this to work after I noticed that the Always Allowed list shows the Amazon Shopping app (which is not installed on my child's phone) instead of the Amazon Alexa app. Once I enabled Always Allowed for Amazon Shopping, which again is not installed on the phone, then Amazon Alexa was allowed during Downtime restricted time.
