No sorry, I try to bypass already mentioned. But this is the problem. MacBook Pro 2011. So it’s old. Won’t display normal login screen, just keeps asking me to reset my password, which I have not forgotten or mistyped. I’m really ready to throw it in the bin! 🤣 it keeps doing this, then suddenly it will allow me to login.. but not today.

? This does nothing to explain what issue you are having...
Use FileVault to encrypt the startup disk on your Mac - Apple ...
Just to let you know I took the advice from a participant and shone a torch through the Apple logo on the lid. That enabled me to see the login box and navigate the curser into it. Sign in snd it worked! Thank you who ever gave this advice. I too thought it was a joke. But it isn’t!!
