OS Upgrade

I have an iMac (Late 2009) running Sierra. I want to upgrade the OS so that it is compatible with my iPhone XR. Is there no way to upgrade the OS? The computer still works perfectly.

Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and download High Sierra.
