On my MacBook Air, running iOS 10.15.7, something that identifies itself as accountsd keeps asking me to provide my "login" keychain password. As I don't know what or who accountsd is, I am reluctant to provide it with my password. Are they legit, or is this some kind of scam? Is it safe to enter my password?

Thanks Nicholas B2. Actually, my question, and I am sure the question on the minds of 99 percent of Mac users, is: what is "accountsd;" and why is it asking me to enter my password? I am REALLY leery of any request to provide my password to an agent I have never heard of, and this is one of them. To date, I have refused to provide my password when accountsd asks for it and there doesn't seem to have been any effect, which makes me suspect that accountsd is a scam.
