My voicemail is missing after updating my iPhone Xs. How can I fix it.

Try turning your iPhone OFF and then back ON.

Open Settings ➔ General ➔ Reset ➔ Shut Down : After the phone shuts down then start it back up again.

If the above does not help then call your carrier and have them reset your voicemail account.
