Can my free Apple TV subscription be extended

I want an answer from Apple, not the community.

I’ve had Apple TV for almost 1 year via buying an iPhone. Subscription will end in February.

i have not used Apple TV because when I try to use it on my TV, I get a message that I must pay.

Two questions:

1) How do I use my subscription?

2) can my free subscription be extended, as I didn’t make use of it?
