iPhone stuck on 5Ge and cannot get online. How do I either access 5Ge or kill 5Ge off and get the wifi symbol back

If you are seeing 5Ge, that is from your cellular carrier. If you are not getting cellular data and if you have cellular data turned on in Settings, then you need to contact your carrier. 5Ge is what AT&T networks identifies its LTE signal. It is a hybrid LTE that they say is like 5G service, but isn't 5G. You won't get 5G on the iPhone XS.

OP mark subject solved? But I’m with AT&T, and I never did see 5e on my iPhone. Apparently, real AT&T 5G service starting to be rolled out in my location. I bought iPhone 12 Pro Max from Apple, and I had to change my wireless plan for 5G.👍

IPhone Xs do not have the internal hardware for 5G, or 5Ge service. You need the iPhone 12 to get 5G service. But what previous post wrote.

What VPN are you using? And why? That is going to be the cause of your WiFi delay.

5Ge is AT&T's marketing replacement for LTE. It's annoying to see as it IS confusing when 5G is actually out there now.

You would not have seen 5e you would have seen 5Ge. But you may not have been in an area where is was used. I still see it in some places I go to.
