July 2010 iMac 27" DVD Hardware

Does anyone know if the DVD in this Mac upconverts DVD's? The screen is certainly big enough that it would make a difference... or not? Just curious. Looking to buy soon.

iMac 20, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

To the best of my knowledge, no, there is no upconversion in this or any other Mac, not with DVD Player, anyway (and I haven't found any other software that does, either).
