how come my photos on MacBook say they take 12gb of storage however when i store on my iCloud drive it says my total storage is less than 2.5gb. I double ckd that photos were clicked to be on the iclowd. why would this be?

iCloud Drive is best suited for files whereas iCloud Photos are more ideally suited for photos.
