how come my photos on MacBook say they take 12gb of storage however when i store on my iCloud drive it says my total storage is less than 2.5gb. I double ckd that photos were clicked to be on the iclowd. why would this be?
Your photos should be stored appropriately in iCloud Photos, not iCloud Drive.
iCloud Drive is best suited for files whereas iCloud Photos are more ideally suited for photos.
I believe iCloud Drive. I have 50gb. I went to iCloud icon. And selected all the categories including photos to back up /store in the cloud and hit apply. Only 2.5gb is used. It even said initially “you don’t have. Enough memory to store your photos on the drive so we purchased the additional 50 over the base 5 that apple gives.
To confirm, are you storing your photos in iCloud Drive or iCloud Photos?
How is this different? Or how do I do that?
