Do I need to backup my iphone on my computer if I have Icloud storage

My MacBook Air is extremely low on storage and backing up my iPhone to my computer takes up a huge portion. If I have iCloud storage plan on my iphone that automatically backs up then do I need to backup my iPhone to my computer? Or can I just use the iCloud to save all my stuff?

Thanks!

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.12

Etapple,

For most purposes you can get by with iCloud but you may wish to review the details of each with this link:
