iPhone X touch display replacement program

For an international brand, the Australian Apple store refused to fix a known defect with the touch display of my IPhone X at no charge under their program. Their reason is if the phone is bought overseas (in my case it was gifted to me). For a quote of $439 instead of free for Australian models it’s disgraceful.

With this kind of customer experience I never will choose Apple for my next phone or computer.

If you were bringing them a computer they would have done the repair. iPhones do not have an international warranty (never have) so if your phone actually qualifies for that recall you will have to send it to the person who gifted it to you and have them take it in for the repair.

Just so you know this is a user-to-user technical support site operated by Apple, no sales people or Apple executives will see your post. Speaking personally I don't car who you buy your computer or smartphone from, but something that makes you happy but do some research prior to getting it. If you switch to PCs be sure to study up on which antivirus/antimalware/antispyware software apps you will need to subscribe to and the various costs. Avoid rooting your android phone unless you like spyware.
