I can’t remember if these ever did work. I just got this phone and have used my Apple Watch to turn it up and down typically but now I am wondering why the buttons do not have the same functionality as my IPhone 10.

I tried off and on again. Still didn’t work. Then left it on and powered off and back on...still didn’t work, then I slid the ringer volume bar a little and tried it again with the buttons and it started working. Stumbled on a solve. Thanks

Go to Settings/Sounds & Haptics and turn on Change with Buttons.
Yeah, already on.
Volume Up/Down buttons do not change volume.
