Syncing Messages with iCloud?

Will messages still sync with all devices if the iCloud option is turned off?

I’m getting messages that my cloud storage is almost full.

Image attached, but I don’t store messages in the cloud. There’s so much wonderful information on the Apple site and still I’m confused 😖.

Thank you for looking at my issue. Did you see the image I included? My messages sync with all my devices, i.e. iMac, MacBook Pro, iPhone 6, iPad Gen5, iPad Gen2.

I’m getting messages that my cloud capacity is maxed and it’s all messages, not photos, or files, but I don’t have the cloud activated for messages. Can you explain?

I realize I need to reset something, but not sure what. It’s probably an easy fix, but I’m confused and not sure whether to reset cloud? or messages? or something completely different.
