Apple gift card for Apple store

What can’t I use my Apple gift card to get my battery replaced? Said I didn’t add it to wallet and had to use a different card to pay to battery replacement. What gives? I thought it’s all the same.

Hmm, the page says "all things Apple" and then goes on to say "products and accessories.... apps, subscriptions, iCloud storage, purchases from apple.com, and more." Why not repairs? The Store may have been incorrect. You may want to register an objection at Apple Support:

The newest Apple Gift Cards are good either at the Apple Store or the iTunes Store, but the older ones were separate. See details in here: What type of gift card do I have? - Apple Support

So apparently NO gift cards can be used towards repairs. Only used to buy accessories, products, subscriptions, etc. I told them that there’s no way for anyone to know that until they have to pay for repairs outta pocket and not even use an Apple Store gift card. 🤦‍♂️ Wish I knew that before I put it in my account. Ugh

Thx for the help, but I did call support. That’s what they told me. I told them it’s misleading and need to either change policy or inform customers online that gift cards can’t be used towards physical repairs, even the Apple Store card.

I got the new white card that’s why I’m asking. It’s says all things Apple but they wouldn’t let me pay in the store for my repair.

Chef,

The web page specifically says "all things Apple" so I wonder if the store was mis-informed? You may want to press the complaint a bit with Apple Support; up to you of course.
