Apple Watch pairing stuck on software update

I just got a used Apple Watch and I keep getting stuck on software update. It says that I’m up to date with iOS 1.1 but stay on that page, the only option for me is to cancel which unpairs the watch.

I have no history of this watch on my phone, what do I do?

i can't pair my apple watch I have an apple watch 4 which hasn't been used for over a year. When I'm now trying to pair it, it requires the watchOS to be updated. This is where it fails.. I've tried it on two different iPhones, both running iOS 14.2. Apple Watch series 3 won’t update/pair Updated iPhone XR to iOS 14.1 and now my watch did a factory reset and says to update the watchOS. Immediately my phone gets the notification to pair a new watch( I only have the one). I go through the steps to set the watch back up when it gets to the update screen and says ‘watchOS 6.1.3 is up to date’. The only option I have is to cancel which will end the ‘update’ and reset the watch AGAIN. It may be a software issue or that my watch is too old but this is unacceptable. additional information: have had phone and watch for over a year now. watch has never been paired with another phone and watch has never been reset before

How to manually pair the Apple watch I’ve tried to update my Apple Watch Series 3 but have been unable to do so. I keep a message that the software needs to be updated, which I then do on my iPhone, and then am informed the watch won’t pair. Is there a way to manually pair the watch and skip the software update? TIA!
