MacBook pro screensaver running along with airplay to TV

I use a pictures folder from an external hard drive to play on my MacBook pro’s screensaver. I am trying to airplay the screensaver to my tv for viewing in the living room. The problem is that with airplay on and active, the MacBook pro will not go into screensaver mode. Any suggestions on how to get the MacBook to start screensaver with Airplay active and running?

Hello Helpmeout321,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!

Based on what you mentioned, you want to use AirPlay to scream media, but want the Apple TV to become inactive so that it can activate its screen saver. To get the end results for this concern, follow the steps here: Create a photo screen saver on Apple TV.

Best wishes!
