Live Photo’s on Apple Watch series 6

Hi, can anyone tell me if you can put Live Photo’s or gifs on your Apple Watch series 6 watch face, I have tired to do it but the image is just still, not moving! If you can do it, how do you do it? Thanks

Hi. You need to go to your Photos library, select needed Live Photo, and hit “Edit” in the top right corner. Then press Live Photo icon in a left bottom corner, drag the frame to the end and make the last frame of the Live Photo your key photo. Then you can use this life photo for the watch face. 🙃

Hello LostinSol,

Thanks for asking the Apple Support Communities about Gif or Live Photos on your Apple Watch.

Your options are to view a live photo, or add a still photo shown here: View photos on Apple Watch - Apple Support

"View a Live Photo on Apple Watch

  • Look for the Live Photo symbol  in the bottom-right corner of a photo, then touch and hold the photo.

For more information about Live Photos, see the iPhone User Guide."

  • "While viewing a photo in the Photos app  on your Apple Watch, tap , then tap Photos under Create Watch Face. You can also create a Kaleidoscope watch face based on the photo, or add a new Photos watch face in the Apple Watch app on your iPhone. See Customize the watch face.

  • Tip: You can easily create a watch face on your iPhone with iOS 11 or later. Open the Photos app on your iPhone, tap a photo, tap , swipe up, then tap Create Watch Face."

Thanks and have a wonderful day.
