I changed my apple id / name / login when my email account changed several years ago. The itunes account information is current with the correct apple id etc including payment information. itunes however still prompts me to login to the old apple id & the 'file' info in 'song info' indicates purchases under the old apple id. How do I correct this?
Those purchases are tied to the other ID and can't be transferred. One option is to delete the apps/purchases made by the other ID and download them using the new ID if desired. If necessary, check your purchases history to see which apps/purchases weren’t made by the current ID.
Or you can try to set up Family Sharing between the IDs to keep access to your purchases.

You are welcome. As long as you are able to access/update all the purchases, it probably isn't worth fixing. You can use Family Sharing if it become necessary.
Thanks Eric, but the 'Purchase History Review' does accurately indicate the purchases have made by the current ID, whether made on my iPhone or desktop. I am able to listen to the music. However, the iTunes 'Song Info' / 'File' description of 'purchased by' indicates the old ID. Perhaps its not worth trying to correct.(?)
