Mac Mini M1 won't startup and light is blinking orange

Have had problems with this device already no being able to access recovery mode (occasionally can but then crashes during reinstall of the OS) but now it won't start up at all and the light is blinking orange (morse code pattern for SOS), preceded by the white light blinking but not brightly.


It is hours old and is my first foray into mac from windows. I am tech-savvy so can try anything but I am at my wits' end with this!

Mac mini, macOS 11.1

If you have another Mac, you can try reviving the firmware inside the Mac mini: Revive or restore a Mac with Apple silicon with Apple Configurator 2 - Apple Support


Otherwise, you may need to return the Mac back to Apple - could be a defective unit.
