It is draining in 2 to 3 hours ...

specification says it will runs up to 11 hours so at least simple browsing must last at least 7-8 hours with new laptop..

Activity Monitor give more usable data if you use its "View" menu" to change its focus to "All Processes"

Runtime is not a specification;, it is an estimate based on conditions Apple publishers in the fine print.

These can shorten runtime to that 2-3 hour range and are not included in the test conditions for runtime estimation:

  • Anti-virus software
  • So-called "cleaning" and "optimizing" apps
  • Some security software for online banking
  • Google Chrome
  • Leaving certain web pages open in the background (Amazom.com is one of them)
  • Streaming video
  • video conferencing
  • Gaming
