Split view on IPhone 11 Pro

I checked in the past questions but the link given only refers to split view for iPads. I remember I had this feature a while ago, when I bought my iPhone (less than six months ago), but I guess this feature disappeared after an update.

Can someone tell me why this feature isn’t anymore available and how can I have split view on my iPhone without an external app? Thanks in advance!
