Watch keeps Pausing during Outdoor Walking

Does anyone else have this problem - or a solution? While I'm walking outdoors my winter coat (or glove or something) seems to constantly set my Watch on Pause, causing totally inaccurate distance and pace stats by the end of the walk. This didn't happen before the onset of cold weather and winter clothing.

When you start your workout slide right on the screen and tap on lock,then when you finish the workout turn the digital crown in one continuous movement to turn the lock off,slide right again and tap on end.

Or if the glove is pressing on the side buttons you could try this;
