I am right now doing the 14.3 iPad iOS update it’s taking a very long time is that normal?

An update can sometimes take an hour or more. The iOS/iPadOS 14.x updates have been known to spend a very long period of time in the “preparing update” stage.


The best advice is to connect the iPad to its Power Adapter (as this will keep the WiFi connection “alive”) and leave the iPad alone in an area of good WiFi coverage; find something else to occupy yourself while your iPad gets on with the job.
