I literally just opened my brand new MacBook Pro and the battery is saying Condition: Replace now

I literally just opened my brand new MacBook Pro and the battery is saying Condition: Replace now. WTF!? I'm ****** because we bought this in September without AppleCare but it wasn't turned on until today because it was a Christmas gift. What do I need to do to fix without spending more money.

Hi try resetting the SMC .

Make sure the adapter is working too, charging the MacBook .(you can also check the adaptor port and make sure theres no dirt/fluff/dust in it.This does happen on iPhones for example as the dust etc builds up and needs to be cleaned out now and again and does affect the charging).

As you bought in September you still have 12 months warranty .
