avtivation lock

i was given an iphone 5c but the activation lock is needed for me to get in. i don't have access to the persons email and password, what can i do?

If you're able to contact the person who set the lock, ask them to remove it. Otherwise, you can't use that iPhone; the activation lock is an anti-theft measure.
