Most likely because you are not doing it correctly. See → Pair a third-party Bluetooth accessory with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support. If follow those instructions doesn’t resolve the issue see→If you can't connect a Bluetooth accessory to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
