Checking "Null"

I'm trying to upgrade my MacBook Pro to Catalina or Big Sur and when I agree to the terms and conditions, a Checking "null" message pops up and nothing happens after that. Any solutions?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.14

Before upgrading macOS make sure you have a good backup just in case something goes wrong or you find Catalina or Big Sur not to your liking.


Try creating and using a bootable macOS USB installer:
