Sidecar for Macbook Air (2017)

I don't understand why Apple didn't make Sidecar compatible for Macbook Air (2017) but made it compatible for Macbook Pros and Macbooks (2016 and later), and iMacs (2017 and later). What's the difference? Why couldn't they make it compatible for the 2017 model?

why can't MacBook Pro 2015 use sidecar? why can't MacBook Pro 2015 use sidecar? It isn't a hardware issue and it doesn't make sense to me why Apple would limit sidecar to newer models only...
