Undo disable and delete of messages

I did the doable and delete for messages on my iCloud but didn’t realize it would delete my current conversations from my phone. It says I have 30 days to undo the action, but how do I undo it?

Turn off auto delete conversations I accidentally clicked (under General-iPad storage) to auto delete conversations after a year without realizing that you can’t un-Click it. Will going under Messages and selecting Keep Message Forever negate this step? Why can’t it be undone? Thank you.

How do I disable the new Auto Delete Old Conversations? I accidentally hit the check box to Auto Delete old conversations in iPhone Storage. But when I check Messages - it is still on Forever not on 1 year. I do not want my messages to delete, should I restore my phone from a backup.

Disable and Delete iCloud Messages - After 30 days I'm doing the disable and delete messages from iCloud to clean out some old messages that refused to delete and kept showing back up. At what point are they actually deleted after the 30 days? Currently, I see the below and it says "in 0 days, the messages stored in iCloud will be deleted", today is day 32. Will that change when it's done? I don't want to turn sync back on too soon and have to start over. Just as reference, I have iCloud Messages disabled on ALL devices (iPad, Mac, and iPhone) and did it the same day.
