Big Sur Update renders expensive outboard recording gear useless?

Hi, I'm understanding that this upgrade to Big Sur will render my 2017 iMac Pro's ability to work with vital outboard audio gear, as well as the software that runs it (Apollo 16 Digital Interface) incompatible from that day (of upgrade to Big Sur) forward. Also, Pro Tools' new way of streaming customers' service with a monthly fee also becomes questionable. True? Just for the sole fact that I've been informed from those I respect and trust, Big Sur will render my Apollo 16 interface obsolete, is enough of a reason for me to skip this upgrade entirely.

If anyone here knows better, or even knows of a magic solution to have the best of both these worlds, please let me know your thoughts on the matter. Until then, I will play it safe and avoid upgrading my operating system, in favor for keeping alive the $4000 worth of digital interface that has been working like a charm. Thank you again, from Yangus.
