Does it support just using a regular password vs touch ID?

Yes, of course (also because to setup a Touch ID/fingerprint you need to input a passcode)

It would use a regular passcode. All devices will work with a passcode, since you actually have to have a passcode to activate Touch ID.

Thanks, looking to get my first iPad-first apple product. So was wondering about the touch ID. Rather just use password.......thanks
