Duplicate (missing) Tracks in Apple Music

I recently rebuilt and re-synced my extensive music library using Apple Music. Sync, Match, paid subscription etc all set to proper Apple defaults. For about half of my music (without any apparent logic to what) there are working files of each song, plus a non-functioning (missing) duplicate files. Every time I upload music, this happens in one form or another. Sorting out duplicates and missing files – or simply not creating them in the first place – seems like an ideal use case for AI / Siri to go to town and make a needed improvement to software that's not keeping up with competitors like Spotify that don't have this issue. Why do I still need to manually sort through music for missing files in 2021?
